The aim of this study is to determine the personality traits of the students of the faculty of sports sciences. The results of the five big personality t 50 test completed by a total of 227 university students were evaluated. T-test, one-way analysis of variance and LSD tests were used in statistical operations. In the study, while there was no significant difference in the dimensions of extraversion, agreeableness, and emotional balance of the five major personality traits by gender (p>0.05), a significant difference was found between Responsibility and Intelligence/Imagination traits (p<0.001). The extraversion scores of students competing nationally were significantly higher than both competing students and students not participating in competitions (p<0.05 and p<0.001). The personality traits scores of the students were found to be similar according to the department they studied (p>0.05). It has been concluded that the personality traits of the students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences vary according to gender, age of sports and national competition status and are similar according to the departments they study. It is thought that the sports education they receive influences the fact that their personality traits are similar according to the department they have studied. It can be suggested that students start sports at an earlier age and participate in national-level organizations to increase their positive personality traits and reduce their negative personality traits.
