The effect of some physical fitness parameters and sports habits on job satisfaction of public employees who do irregular and do not do sports.

In this study; Some physical fitness parameters of public personnel working at Istanbul Technical University, who do sports and do not do sports, were compared and their relationship with job satisfaction was examined. The participants of our study are public personnel between the ages of 30-45. The study group consists of 20 people who do sports irregularly and 20 people who do not do sports, a total of 40 men. Physical fitness measurements, Body Mass Index (BMI), flexibility, muscular strength, power, cardiovascular endurance tests were performed on the participants of our study. With the Minnesota Job Satisfaction survey of these working groups; Intrinsic Satisfaction, Extrinsic Satisfaction and General Satisfaction levels were measured. SPSS 21 program was used for statistical analysis of our study. Descriptive Statistics Test was performed to determine the maximum and minimum values, means and standard deviations of the groups. To analyze the differences between groups, groups were analyzed using the Independent Samples T Test. In our study; It has been observed that the physical fitness values of the group that does irregular sports are better than the group that does not do sports. It was also found that the general and external job satisfaction of those who do sports irregularly are higher than those who do not do sports. As a result, from the information we obtained in our study; It can be said that it is important for employees in the private and public sector to gain the habit of exercising in terms of increasing work efficiency.
