A Study on the Score and Technical Analysis of the Greco-Roman Turkish National Team in the 2022 Senior World Wrestling Championship

Abstract

Wrestling has a very important place among Olympic Sports in the world. Turkish Wrestling is one of the most important components of world wrestling. Turkey participates in the continental and world events in the international federation's competition calendar, in every age group and in every style. It has achieved many successes in these organizations. In addition to the individual successes it achieved in men's Greco-Roman style in the seniors world wrestling championship held in 2022, the team world championship also made these performances of the athletes and the analysis of their performance components are important. Because the performance analysis of the athletes and the objective presentation of the competition components will be one of the most important data in the preparation of the future training programs of both the athletes themselves and other athletes who will compete with them. In this study, both individual competition component analyzes and score analyzes showing common characteristics as a team were conducted for the Greco-Roman Turkish National Team athletes in the 2022 world championship. Turkish national team athletes were victorious in 24 of 34 competitions, they won 80% of the competition by points, while they won an average of 4.4 points per competition, their average duration was recorded as 5:26 seconds. In addition, while the 1 and 2 point frequencies were high, the majority of these points were obtained in the second minutes of the first and second periods.
