Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare the effects of complex and combined training programs on biomotor performance in young futsal players. A total of 36 male futsal players aged 14–17 years were randomly assigned to a complex training group (XTG; n = 18) and a combined training group (CTG; n = 18). Both groups completed an 8-week training intervention. Pre- and post-tests included body composition, aerobic capacity (VO2max), anaerobic power, strength, agility, flexibility, and sprint performance. Statistical analyses were performed using paired and independent samples t-tests, along with Pearson correlation analysis. The results indicated significant improvements in biomotor performance variables in both groups (p<0.05). However, the comparison between groups revealed that the complex training group achieved significantly greater improvements in body fat percentage, VO2max, vertical jump performance, back and leg strength, and agility compared to the combined training group (p<0.05). In contrast, a limited advantage in short-distance sprint performance was observed in favor of the combined training group. Complex training can be considered an effective method for supporting the multifaceted biomotor development of young futsal players, especially in parameters related to strength, power, and agility. Therefore, integrating complex training into conditioning programs can significantly contribute to performance in high-intensity sports like futsal.
