COMPARISON OF FOOTBALL PLAYERS' COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Abstract

This study aims to compare the communication skills of football players. Three hundred twenty-six football players participated in the study. The "Communication Skills Inventory" developed by Ersanlı and Balcı (1998) was used as a data collection tool in the study. The scale consists of 45 questions, including mental, emotional, and behavioral sub-dimensions. As a result of the study, no difference was found between the communication skills of married and single football players. When the communication skills of amateur and professional football players were compared, amateur football players had high scores in the emotional sub-dimension and communication total score. Similarly, in emotional and communication total scores, those who are over 29 years old and those who have a sports year of 16 years or more have higher communication scores than the other groups. When communication skills are compared according to education level, undergraduate graduates have high scores in mental, emotional, and communication total points. The difference in communication skills between the groups can be explained by age and experience in sports years.
