INVESTIGATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LEADERSHIP CONCEPTS ADOPTED BY WRESTLING COACHES AND THEIR DECISION-MAKING FEATURES

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between wrestling coaches' leadership approaches and decision-making characteristics. The sample group of the research consists of 126 volunteer wrestling coaches who participated in the Turkish Greco-Roman wrestling championships held in Sivas and Konya. The data of the research was analyzed using the SPSS for Windows 23.0 package program and t-Test, anova test and correlation analyzes were used in data analysis. As a result of the research, a positive significant relationship was found between the leadership sub-dimensions of wrestling coaches, namely educational instructive behavior, democratic behavior, social supportive behavior, rewarding behavior, and the external decision-making dimension, which is the sub-dimension of the effective decision-making scale in sports. According to this research, it was concluded that wrestling coaches tend to make more external decisions in their leadership approach.
