INVESTIGATION OF THE STRESS LEVEL OF STUDENTS WHO WILL TAKE THE APPLICATION EXAM IN MALATYA SPORTS HIGH SCHOOLS IN TERMS OF CERTAIN VARIABLES

Abstract

The aim of this research was to examine the stress levels of students who will take the talent test for the entrance exam to the sports high school in Malatya province for selected variables. The study was created by secondary school students who took the sports high schools talent test in Turkey and 108 secondary school students, aged between 13-15 and, who took the talent test in Malatya sports high schools. The research also used descriptive model from quantitative research methods. The research used Demographic Variables Information Form prepared by researchers as a basic data collection tool and the “Stress Scale for secondary school students” developed by Kesici and Asilioğlu (2017). Analysis of data in the SPSS 22.0 statistical package program for Windows, percentage (%), frequency (f) arithmetic average (X), standard deviation (SS.) for parameters derived from the Demographic information form and data collection tools It was done and a Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test was performed to determine the normality distribution of the data. In comparison of the 2-li differences, the Mann Whitney U test was performed and Kruskal-Wallis H test was performed in comparison of more than 2 differences. There are also descriptive analyzes for each lower dimension of the scale. In the study, the level of statistical significance is considered p<0.05. As a result, it has been observed that the stress levels of secondary education children who will take the special talent exam in the province of Malatya are low. according to other age groups of children aged 13-14, stress levels may be low, as their anxiety has not yet reached a sufficient level.
