ÖZET
Küreselleşmenin etkisiyle spor olgusu her yönüyle tüm dünyada evrensel hale gelmiştir. Bu durum tüm spor branşlarını etkilediği gibi Amerika’nın en popüler sporu olan Korumalı futbolunu da etkilemiştir. Dünya çapında popülerliği artmış ve ülkemizde de tanınan bir spor branşı halini almaya başlamıştır. Korumalı futbol uluslararası düzeyde de müsabakalarının yapılması sebebiyle bu spor branşının tarihsel sürecinin incelenmesi oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’de ve dünyada Korumalı futbolun gelişiminin incelenmesidir. Çalışmada literatür tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmamızda Korumalı futbolun tarihsel süreç içinde çeşitli dönem ve süreçleri dikkate alınarak irdelenmiştir. 19. yy’da Birleşik Krallıkta oynanmaya başlayan bu spor ülkemizde 1980 yıllarının sonuna doğru tanınmaya başlanmıştır. Korumalı futbola ilgi duyulsa da popülaritesinin düşük olması nedeniyle gelişme göstermemiştir. Amerika’da hızla benimsenen ve geniş kitlelere hitap eden Amerikan futbolu ülkemizde Korumalı futbol adıyla Türkiye Ragbi Federasyonu bünyesinde faaliyetlerine devam etmektedir. Bu sporda son yıllarda lig, lisanslı sporcu ve takım sayısının artmasıyla ülkemizde gelişme gösterdiği söylenebilir.

With the effect of globalization, the phenomenon of sports has become universal in all aspects of the world. This situation has affected all sports branches as well as American football, which is the most popular sport in America. It has grown in popularity all around the world. It has started to become a well-known sports branch in our country. It is very important to examine the historical process of american football because of the fact that American football matches are also held at the international level. The purpose of this study is to examine the development of American football in Turkey and in the world. Literature review method was used in the study. In the study, the history of American football has been examined by considering various periods and processes. This sport, which started to be played in the United Kingdom in the 19th century, began to be recognized in our country towards the end of the 1980s. Although there was an interest in American football, it did not develop due to its low popularity. American football, which is rapidly adopted in America and appeals to large masses, continues its activities under the Turkish Rugby Federation under the name of (Protected Football) in our country. It can be said that this sport has developed in our country with the increase in the number of leagues, licensed athletes and teams in recent years.
